My Suzi
(06/03/89 - 05/20/98)
She was more than a dog, my Suzi.
She was my true and loyal friend.
She followed my lead wherever I went.
We loved each other to the end.
She wasn't spoiled, my Suzi.
She just knew how to get her own way.
With a tug on her leash,or a flip of her ear,
Our walks were a game she'd play.
She ate from my hand, my Suzi.
How well she had me trained!
If anyone tried to make her eat from her bowl,
The offerings, she would disdain.
With eyes full of fun, my Suzi,
Would wag her tail with glee,
As I came home at the end of each day.
She'd waited so long for me.
Such a dear little dog was my Suzi.
A joy for nine years in my heart.
A happy reunion is coming one day,
When we never again will part.
Dear God, take care of my Suzi,
Until I see her again.
Give her the best that your love can afford,
Because she was my friend.
